Is it 2006 or 1992? I am proud that my generation has produced bands like Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead, that have been able to pump out solid music year after year... these bands are my age groups Rolling Stones and Beatles. Not to mention that these dudes havent aged a day since I was 15. phenomenal.

Wind blistered lips, rain soaked shirt collars and Waltz#1 makes for the most upbeat of times... If Ohio is for lovers, than December will be my breaking point. Its weather like this when New York is an escape from Boston and Rain like the sound of trains is current whistling music played on my windowsill.
QUICK REVIEW - 10/25/05
The New Amsterdams... If you weren't aware that TGUK called it a day, you certainly wouldnt know that Matt Pryor, lead singer, has had this side project going for a number of years with a few relases on Vagrant. I am a sucker for TGUK and I am admittedly so for The New Ams. Pryor belts out painfully introspective lyrics about life issues that the average emo-pop sensation would grasp about as well as an eel in crisco. Lines such as "...If I had your faith, i'd be fearless" rip you open and force honesty about where you stand in this whole damn thing. Simple and solemn piano arrangements intersect with six sullen strings that could make even the hardest dude you know look weepy. God bless Matt Pryor, he knows not what he does to us.
Panic! At The Disco... I will admit I overlooked this band when we did a show with them a while back, but I have listened to them a bit more and they are pretty damn good. Not your typical guy gets hurt by girl emo jams, they twist things with dancey uptempo beats and cleverly empowering but ultimately heartbreaking lyrics, that poke fun at the "look at me, im the wild crazy guy that sings about kids having sex and doing drugs... arent we having a blast" types, especailly on "Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" and "I Write Sins Not Tragedies". While topics are tragically cliche and typical, its purposely done in this tongue and cheek manner to spur hand claps and burn up the dance floor. Could electro-emo-synth be the new era of "ravers" and ignite people into actually dancing again? Check these guys out before they blow up and you get too cool to like them.
